A video has emerged online showing President Bola Tinubu branded “plantain chips” reportedly being prepared as part of a grassroots campaign move for the 2027 general elections

The snacks are contained in plastic rubber packs clearly labelled “Jagaban 2027 Door 2 Door Movement” pointing to an early door-to-door mobilisation effort

The video has drawn significant attention and sparked discussions among Nigerians many of whom are questioning the seriousness of using such methods this early before the elections

The man seen in the footage maintains he is not engaging in any form of campaigning but was only awarded a contract

He emphasizes that his involvement is purely transactional and not based on political allegiance

“Na contract they give me I’m not campaigning for anybody So na contract now na money they go pay me” he states

“Imagine they don’t begin the campaign for 2027 It’s the money I’m interested in” he added.

Meanwhile as part of developments leading to the 2027 general elections Wizopa had earlier disclosed that top opposition politicians have adopted the African Democratic Congress ADC as their new party nominating former Senate President David Mark as the protem national chairman and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as the protem national secretary.

The announcement came from a high-level strategy meeting currently in session indicating a major political coalition ahead of 2027.

Among those present were former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi former All Progressives Congress National Chairman John Oyegun former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai former Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke and former House Speaker and ex-Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Also in attendance were notable political players like Kashim Imam along with other senior stakeholders from diverse political backgrounds.
