LG Elections: Air Peace to Suspend Lagos Flights Temporarily on Saturday

Air Peace has disclosed a temporary halt of both incoming and outgoing flights at its Lagos base on Saturday, July 12, 2025, due to the scheduled local government elections in Lagos State.

This was made known in a public announcement posted on the airline’s official X account on Thursday. As detailed in the notice, all flights will be suspended from 3:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. as a result of movement restrictions put in place by the government throughout Lagos State.

“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” the announcement stated.

“This pause in service aligns with the Lagos Local Government Elections and the restriction of movement on roads and waterways as directed by the Lagos State Police Command.

“Flight activities are expected to continue as normal from 4:00 p.m. on the same day,” the airline added.

Air Peace apologized for any disruptions this may cause passengers and reassured them that regular operations will resume as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

In a related development, ahead of the election, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, on Wednesday directed the deployment of officers across the state to maintain peace and security during the voting exercise.
