The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of Kadir Owolabi, a motorcycle rider, allegedly found with three human skulls in his possession.
CSP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
According to Odutola, a search of Owolabi’s luggage by mobile police officers uncovered the disturbing find of three human skulls.
She explained that the discovery was made during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out by operatives from 71 PMF, Awa Ijebu, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, along the Ijebu Ode-Ibadan Expressway, at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.
“During the exercise, officers stopped Kadir Owolabi, who was riding a motorcycle. A search of his luggage led to the startling discovery of three human skulls.
“Preliminary investigation later resulted in the arrest of another suspect, Jamiu Yisa, aged 53, behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat,” she stated.
Odutola added that the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, had instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the matter for thorough investigation.
The spokesperson further emphasised that the command remains committed to taking decisive action against criminal activities.
She urged residents to continue cooperating with the police while assuring the public of confidentiality, protection, and trust.
