Nnamdi Kanu orders cancellation of IPOB sit at home in South East

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has announced the cancellation of its sit at home order across the South East region.

The group made this known in a statement released on Saturday, explaining that the decision followed a directive from its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to IPOB, Kanu instructed the leadership of the organisation to suspend the sit at home in the interest of peace and to allow the restoration of normal economic activities across the region.

The group stated that the decision was taken after careful consideration of the impact of the sit at home on residents of the South East.

IPOB explained that the action was aimed at reducing hardship on the people, particularly traders, workers, students and business owners whose daily activities have been affected.

It noted that the suspension would allow businesses, schools and other routine engagements to operate without interruption.

IPOB also called on residents of the South East to resume their lawful activities without fear, stressing that the directive was clear and should be respected by all.

The group further reaffirmed its commitment to non violence and peaceful engagement, stating that it remains focused on pursuing its objectives through lawful and peaceful means.

According to the statement, the decision reflects the group’s concern for the welfare of the people and its desire to see economic and social life return fully across the region.
