Residents of Umueri in Anambra East have been left shocked following the alleged brutal assault of a young married woman and mother of one identified as Mrs Onyinyechi.
According to reports from the community, the incident happened a few days ago and involved two women identified as Mrs Chinecherem and Chidimma, who have now reportedly been arrested and moved to Awka.
Sources alleged that Mrs Chinecherem, who is from Nando and married to a man from the same community, has maternal roots in Umueri Okebo, while Chidimma is said to be from Aguleri with her mother also from Umueri.
The controversy reportedly started after Mrs Onyinyechi allegedly made a comment concerning the health and growth of Chinecherem’s child identified as Kosi.
Which means that the young Mrs Onyinyechi was beaten mercilessly for saying her child is growing and looking fat while Chinecherem’s child is no more growing and looking fat.
What began as a disagreement allegedly turned violent, with witnesses claiming Onyinyechi was mercilessly beaten, flogged and physically assaulted with bare hands during the confrontation.

Residents said the victim suffered serious injuries and was nearly beaten to death before people nearby intervened to stop the attack before Onyinyechi was taken to the hospital.
The incident has since generated widespread outrage across social media after videos allegedly showing parts of the assault surfaced online.
Community sources also confirmed that the President General of Umueri has stepped into the matter as pressure continues to mount for justice and proper punishment for those involved.
Authorities reportedly confirmed the arrest of Chinecherem and Chidimma following the circulation of the viral videos, while investigations into the incident are said to be ongoing.
The disturbing development has continued to spark reactions online, with many calling for stricter action against violence and public assaults within communities.
