One of the operations resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old suspect allegedly connected to a robbery case. Police said the suspect was transferred from the Oke-Odo Division, where officers recovered a fabricated Beretta pistol and a motorcycle allegedly used by a robbery gang operating around the Ipaja area.

The suspect reportedly admitted involvement in a three-man robbery operation, while efforts continue to apprehend other members of the gang.

In another operation on June 22, police arrested three suspects allegedly connected to an armed robbery incident where a victim sustained gunshot injuries. A locally-made pistol and four expended cartridges were recovered during the investigation.

The commissioner also revealed that intelligence-led operations in the Ayetoro-Ijanikin area uncovered a case involving alleged conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms. Three suspects were arrested, while officers recovered two double-barrel guns and six locally fabricated single-barrel guns.

The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for further investigation.

During a separate patrol along Ilupeju Bye-pass, officers arrested two suspects allegedly found with firearms, including a cut-to-size pistol, an English Browning pistol, and four live cartridges.

The command also confirmed the arrest of two individuals accused of impersonating military personnel, with a pump-action gun allegedly recovered from them.

In addition, four suspected cult members linked to the Eiye Confraternity were arrested, with police recovering firearms and other items during the operation.

The Commissioner of Police assured Lagos residents that investigations would continue and that all suspects found culpable would face prosecution.

He further stated that the command would maintain its efforts to dismantle criminal networks and ensure that illegal weapons are removed from the streets.

The police leadership urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing useful information that can help prevent crime and improve safety across Lagos.
